KingCut User Guide

A guide to KingCut's main features and how to use them.

Getting Started

• Load a videoClick [Import Media] or drag a video file onto the window to load it (MP4, MOV, MKV, etc.).
• PlayerPlay the loaded video and find the spot you want. Use the seek bar or arrow keys to move to the exact frame.
• LayoutThe media library is on the left, the player and range selection in the center, and the timeline below.
• Save projectSave your work as a .kcp project file and reopen it later.

Range Selection

• Mark a rangeDrag the filmstrip to create a range, then move the selected range's start and end with the [ ] keys.
• Precise movesStep one frame with ←→ and jump by keyframes with Shift+←→. You can also type a timecode directly.
• Multi-rangeManage several ranges at once — each range gets its own colored underline so they are easy to tell apart.
• Split videoUse the split button on a media card to auto-create ranges by equal parts or a time interval.
• PreviewLoop-play a range to check your selection before cutting.

Export

• Quick exportUse [Quick Export] to save selected ranges immediately. Pick Fast or Convert mode in the output settings.
• Fast modeCuts at original quality with no re-encoding. Smart cut keeps the start point frame-accurate.
• Convert modeRe-encodes, changing codec, resolution, frame rate or speed. NVENC hardware acceleration is used automatically when available.
• OptionsChoose to merge ranges, extract audio as MP3, remove audio, or generate YouTube chapter text.

Timeline

• Add to timelinePress Enter or [Add to Timeline] to collect selected ranges on the timeline.
• ReorderDrag clips on the timeline to reorder them, and drag the edges to trim.
• Merge & exportUse [Export Timeline] to merge all clips in order into one video.
• UndoUndo or redo edits with Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y.

Settings

• Color themeChoose from Dark, Photoshop Gray, Deep Blue and Light. Deep Blue is the default.
• LanguageKorean and English UI are supported, switchable instantly in settings.
• Auto updateYou can have it check automatically for a new version at launch.
• Reset settingsYou can reset everything back to defaults in settings.
