Frequently used keys
Getting Started
- Open a documentDrag a PDF into the window or press Ctrl+O. Multiple documents open as tabs; switch with Ctrl+Tab.
- Start tab (시작)The fixed first tab. It gathers recent documents, favorites and frequently used tools, and you can drop files anywhere on it to open them. Ctrl+T brings you back.
- Explorer tab (탐색기)The fixed second tab (Ctrl+Shift+X). Browse folders showing only PDFs, check a first-page preview, page count and password status, then open. File tasks such as new folder, rename and copy work here too.
- LayoutPick a tab at the top — Home (홈), Annotate (주석), Edit (편집), Pages (페이지), Convert (변환), Security (보안), Tools (도구) — and its tools appear in the toolbar. The status bar at the bottom always holds page navigation, fit, page view and zoom.
- Left and right panelsThe left rail holds thumbnails (F4) and bookmarks (F5); the right rail holds search, annotations, properties, security, attachments and help. F9 and F10 show or hide the rails.
- Session restoreRelaunching restores the documents, pages and zoom you left off with. You can turn this off in Preferences (환경설정) › General (일반).
Viewing & Moving
- Zoom in / outCtrl+wheel, Ctrl++ / Ctrl+-, or the slider and zoom box in the status bar. Text stays sharp at any zoom.
- FitFit window Ctrl+0 · fit width Ctrl+Alt+W · actual size Ctrl+Alt+0. Also available from Fit (맞춤) in the status bar.
- Page viewChoose continuous scroll, single page, two pages, two pages continuous or cover page alone from Page view (쪽 보기) in the status bar.
- PanningDrag with the hand tool, or hold Space and drag with any tool. Shift+wheel scrolls left and right.
- MinimapWhen zoomed content is wider than the window, a small map appears at the bottom right. Click or drag on it to jump there.
- Links & backHovering an in-document link shows where it goes ("N 페이지로 이동" = go to page N); click to jump. Alt+← / Alt+→ go back and forward.
- Full screen & presentationF11 is full screen; Ctrl+L is presentation mode, showing only the current page large. Press Esc to leave.
- Split view & new windowCtrl+\ shows two documents side by side; turn on synced scrolling (같이 스크롤) to move them together. Ctrl+Alt+N opens the current tab in a new window, and you can drag a tab into another KingPDF window to merge.
- ThemeCtrl+Shift+N switches between the light and dark themes.
Search & Panels
- Select & copyDrag with the select tool, then press Ctrl+C. Soft line wraps inside a paragraph are joined, so paragraphs are not broken up.
- SearchCtrl+F opens search in the right panel (any selected text is filled in). Choose the scope — this document or all open documents (이 문서 | 열린 문서) — plus match case and whole word. Results are grouped by page with surrounding text.
- Next / previousEnter / Shift+Enter, or F3 / Shift+F3.
- Annotation panelCtrl+Shift+A. Filter the document's annotations by type, sort by page, time or author, and export to text, CSV or XFDF.
- Properties panelCtrl+Alt+P. Change the color, opacity, fill and author of the selected annotation instantly. With nothing selected it shows document information and the font list.
- Attachments & layersSave or open files attached to the document. Layers are listed (turning them on and off is not supported).
Annotations
- Highlight / underline / strikeoutSelect text and press the tool to apply it instantly. With no text selected, the tool switches to a drag-to-mark mode.
- Pen & eraserWrite freely with the pen; the eraser removes just part of a pen stroke.
- Text box & noteTurn on Text box (텍스트 상자) and click where you want to type. A note (메모) is a sticky-note annotation.
- Stamps & shapesCreate your own seal or approval stamp from an image and place it. Background removal happens on your PC, and stamp images are never uploaded. You can also paste a copied picture with Ctrl+V as an image stamp. Shapes are rectangle, ellipse, line, arrow and polygon.
- Change & deleteClick an annotation with the select tool, then change it in the properties panel or press Delete. Annotations made in other programs can be edited in place too.
- UndoEvery action can be undone and redone with Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z.
Editing & Pages
- Edit textOn the Edit (편집) tab, turn on Edit text (본문 편집) and click text in the document to change it in place. The document's own font is reused wherever possible.
- Add textAdd text (텍스트 추가) places new text anywhere. Choose font, size and alignment, and drag the box to move or rotate it.
- Text that cannot be editedKingPDF tells you when text cannot be changed — for example vertical writing, some special fonts, text inside grouped content or invisible OCR text layers.
- Pages tabThe Pages (페이지) tab lays pages out as a thumbnail grid. Select several pages to rotate (Ctrl+R / Ctrl+Shift+R), delete (Ctrl+Del), extract (Ctrl+Shift+E) or insert, and drag to reorder.
- BookmarksCtrl+B adds the current page to the bookmarks; rename or delete bookmarks in the left bookmark panel.
Security
- Passwords & permissionsOn the Security (보안) tab, set an open password and an owner password (AES-256), and choose printing, copying and editing permissions.
- Digital signatureSign with a certificate from the Windows certificate store and drag the signature box where you want it. You can add a timestamp server. Handwritten ink signatures are available too.
- Verify signaturesShows whether a signature is valid and whether anything changed after signing.
- Edit lockLocks the document when signing by setting which changes are allowed afterwards.
- Remove passwordRemoves the password and restrictions from a document whose password you know.
- RedactMark areas by dragging or by searching for words; those pages are rebuilt as images so the hidden content is really removed. The result is saved as a new file and the original stays as it was.
Saving & Settings
- SavingBoth Ctrl+S and Ctrl+Shift+S are Save As. The original file is never overwritten. Security operations always save to a new file as well.
- Saving only the changesAnnotations and edits keep the original content and append only the changes.
- New-version noticeWhen a new version is out, a small badge (새 버전) appears left of the gear in the title bar. Click it to open the download page — KingPDF never downloads or installs anything by itself. Turn it off in Preferences (환경설정) › General (일반).
- Preferences & command searchCtrl+, opens Preferences. Ctrl+K opens a search box for every command and shortcut.
