Getting Started
Install
Download and run the installer for automatic installation.
Open Files
Drag an archive onto KingZip, or double-click it.
File Association
Settings > Shell Integration to associate extensions with KingZip.
Extracting
Extract All
Click the "Extract" toolbar button, or drag files to Explorer.
Extract Selected
Select the files you want, then drag or right-click > Extract.
Password
Encrypted files prompt for password automatically during extraction.
Creating Archives
New Archive
Menu > New Archive, or right-click in Explorer > Compress with KingZip.
Format
Choose your format (ZIP, 7Z, TAR.GZ, etc.) and compression level.
Encryption
Set password and encryption method (AES-256/ZipCrypto) in advanced settings.
Explorer Integration
Context Menu
Register context menus in Settings > Shell Integration. No admin rights needed.
Menu Items
Toggle "Open with KingZip", "Extract Here", "Smart Extract", "Compress as ZIP" individually.
Password Recovery
Start
Go to Menu > Tools > Password Recovery and select an encrypted archive.
Settings
Set character range (digits/letters/symbols) and password length, then start. Searches at 1 billion attempts per second. Found passwords are applied automatically.
File Repair
Start
Go to Menu > Tools > File Repair and select a damaged archive.
Repair
Automatically scans for recoverable files and restores as much data as possible.
Password Manager
Save
Register frequently used passwords. They will be tried automatically when opening encrypted archives.
Manage
Go to Menu > Tools > Password Manager to add, edit or delete saved passwords.
