From picking a recording mode to game capture, webcam and quality settings — everything you need to record your screen with KingCam, on one page.
KingCam offers seven modes, one for each kind of thing you might want to capture. Your other settings carry over when you switch, so when the situation changes you only need to change the mode.
Drag to capture just the part of the screen you want. The mode you will use most for showing one section of a document or web page.
Capture a single program window. The desktop and other windows stay out of the frame, which is ideal for walking through one app.
Capture an entire monitor. Best for walkthroughs where you move between several programs.
Follows the cursor and records the area around it. Use it to show small menus or buttons up close.
Records the camera alone, full screen. Good for a talking-head intro or greeting.
Records sound only, with no video. For meeting notes or voice memos where you do not need a picture.
Grabs the image the game itself draws. Use it for full-screen games and other cases where ordinary screen capture struggles.
If this is your first time opening KingCam, just follow these four steps — the default settings already produce a video you can use.
Game mode does not photograph the screen — it takes the image the game hands to the graphics card, right where it is drawn. That is how it can capture full-screen games and titles ordinary screen recording struggles with.
The webcam works in two ways: recorded on its own as a full-screen video, or laid over another mode as a small picture-in-picture overlay.
You can settle quality and file size with a single preset, or set each item yourself. If you are not sure what to pick, start with a preset.
KingCam hotkeys are global — they work while the KingCam window sits behind everything else, and while you are busy in another program. These are the factory defaults.
| Action | Default key | Out of the box |
|---|---|---|
| Start/Stop Recording | Ctrl+F10 | On |
| Pause/Resume | Ctrl+F9 | On |
| Capture Image | Ctrl+F11 | On |
| Cancel Recording (discard) | Ctrl+Shift+F10 | Off |
| Drawing Mode On/Off | Ctrl+F8 | Off |
| Mute/Unmute Microphone | Ctrl+F7 | Off |
| System Audio On/Off | Ctrl+F6 | Off |
| Hide/Show Frame & Control Bar | Ctrl+Shift+H | Off |
If another program already holds the same key, that hotkey cannot be registered. KingCam does not fail silently: it tells you the key is in use by another program. It does not give up either — it keeps retrying, and the moment the other program lets the key go, KingCam takes it back.
These are not global — they only work while that screen is in front.
Beyond recording itself, these extras polish the result and take work out of the process.
