KingView User Guide

Learn about the key features and usage of KingView.

Getting Started

• InstallationDownload and run the installer. No additional configuration required - just install and use.
• Open FileDrag images onto the window, press O, or double-click from File Explorer.
• Drag and DropDrag image files, folders, or archive files onto the window to open instantly.
• InterfaceConsists of a top title bar and bottom control bar. Right-click to open the context menu.

View Modes

• Fit ModesPress 1/2/3 to switch between Fit to Screen / Fit Stretch / Original Size.
• Webtoon ModePress W to activate vertical scroll webtoon mode. Width selectable (100%/640/760/800px), optimized for reading comics (CBZ/CBR).
• Dual ViewView two images side-by-side for comparison. Great for scanned manga or two-page layouts.
• FullscreenPress F or Enter to toggle fullscreen, Esc to exit.
• Zoom & PanZoom from 5% to 1600% with +/- or Ctrl+mouse wheel. Drag to pan.

Image Processing

• RotationPress R/E for 90° rotation, use control menu for precise 10° rotation.
• FlipPress H for horizontal flip, V for vertical flip.
• InterpolationPress F5-F8 to select Nearest / Bilinear / Bicubic / High-Quality Cubic. Affects upscale quality.
• FiltersPress U/I/S to switch None / Smooth / Smooth+Sharpen.
• Invert & EXIF Auto-RotatePress Ctrl+I to invert colors. Camera images auto-rotate based on EXIF orientation.

Archives

• Open ArchiveDrag ZIP, 7z, ALZ, EGG, RAR, CBZ, CBR files onto the window or press O. Browse without extraction.
• Browse Internal ImagesImages are auto-sorted (natural order) inside the archive. Navigate with left/right arrows.
• Move Between ArchivesPress [/] to jump to previous/next archive in the same folder.
• Preload OptimizationNext images are pre-decoded for instant display. Batch extraction optimizes Solid 7z performance.

Animation

• Auto PlaybackAnimated GIF, WebP, APNG, and AVIF files play automatically when opened.
• Playback ControlUse the control bar or shortcuts to pause/play and step through frames.
• Frame NavigationStep frame-by-frame to inspect specific moments in the animation.

EXIF & Metadata

• Open EXIF PanelPress Tab to show the EXIF panel on the right with slide animation.
• Metadata FieldsDisplays 60+ metadata fields: camera model, lens, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, GPS coordinates, and more.
• XMP / IPTC SupportUses the Exiv2 library to accurately read EXIF, XMP, and IPTC tags.

Settings

• PNG DecoderChoose between libspng (default, high-performance) or WIC (Windows native) in options.
• Preload CachePre-decodes previous/next images for instant display. Cache auto-sizes to 30% of system memory (200MB-2GB range).
• Dark ThemeDark theme is applied by default. Title bar and context menus follow the same dark style.
• File AssociationAssociate common image extensions with KingView during install to open them with a double-click.
