KingView is designed to work out of the box with zero setup. It supports 92 image formats and 36 archive types, so just start by dragging any file onto the window.

Photos, webtoons and comic books each deserve a different screen. KingView switches between four fit modes, a vertical webtoon mode and two-page view (smart pairing, solo cover, right-to-left) with a single key.

• Webtoon ModePress W to activate vertical scroll webtoon mode. Width selectable (100%/640/760/800px), optimized for reading comics (CBZ/CBR).

Rotation, flips and adjustments are all non-destructive: they change only what you see, never the file itself. Experiment freely.

• RotationR/E rotate by 90°; fine 10° rotation is on the bottom control bar.
• FlipPress H for horizontal flip, V for vertical flip.
• InterpolationPick one of five zoom-quality levels — pixelated / smooth / good / best quality / best quality+sharpen — from the right-click [Zoom quality] menu. Best quality is the default.
• FiltersThe live-adjust panel (A) tunes brightness, contrast, gamma, saturation and sharpen on the fly — files are never modified.
• Invert & EXIF Auto-RotateCamera photos are auto-oriented from EXIF. Press Z to reset every adjustment at once.
• Set as WallpaperRight-click ▸ Save & Album ▸ Set as Desktop Wallpaper, then choose monitor, backdrop color, position and size with a live preview. Each monitor is composed at its own resolution.

Picking images through a file-open dialog is slow. The Image Browser is a dedicated explorer with folder tree, address bar and thumbnails — click a cell and it appears full-size in the main window instantly.

• OpenPress G or click the [Image Browser] button on the control bar to open a standalone browser window with a folder tree, address bar and thumbnail grid. Archive contents browse just like folders.
• Thumbnail SizeIn the browser window, Ctrl+mouse wheel resizes thumbnails in real time — the number per row changes smoothly.
• Sort & FilterSort by name, date, size or rating; filter by filename search, star rating or flag — all right from the toolbar.
• File OperationsSelect multiple images to copy, move or delete. A single click on a thumbnail shows it instantly in the main window.
• Grid ViewB switches the main window itself into a thumbnail grid view, with filename labels and star ratings.

Installing KingView also installs KingView Explorer, a separate program built for browsing photos. Launch it from the Start menu or from the KingView context menu. Pick images with the folder tree, thumbnails and preview pane, then double-click to open the KingView viewer.

• Archives as FoldersArchives expand right in the folder tree, subfolders included — neither Windows Explorer nor other photo managers do this.
• Three ViewsSwitch between thumbnail, details and list views, and size thumbnails in six steps with Ctrl+wheel. Star ★, animation and format badges show on the thumbnails.
• Find It FastAdd folders to favorites, reopen recent locations from the address bar button, and filter by name or a pattern such as *.jpg.
• OrganizeRename with F2 and create folders, copy, move or delete on the spot. Drag files to and from Windows Explorer.
• View LargeDouble-click and the KingView viewer opens full screen; close it and you are back in Explorer. Prefer a window? Change it in Explorer settings under View.

Photos end up scattered across folders and even inside archives. Playlists gather them into one list — like a music player — without copying a single file.

• Create & AddRight-click [Playlist] adds the current image to the active list instantly. You can also multi-select images in the Image Browser and add them all at once.
• Manager WindowA dedicated manager window creates lists, renames them, reorders entries and cleans up broken items. Double-click to play.
• Play & SlideshowLoad a playlist to view images in your saved order — or play it directly as a slideshow.
• Safe StorageMix images from any folders and archives freely. Playlists are stored in an SQLite database, safe even with multiple windows open.

When you only need part of an image, there is no need to launch a capture tool. Drag out a region and search, copy, save or extract text right on the spot.

• Select a RegionStart with Shift+G or right-click [Select Region], then drag to select. Fine-tune with Windows 11 snipping-style handles.
• Google SearchThe [Google Search] button sends the selected region straight to Google Lens image search — great for finding sources and similar images.
• Copy & Save[Copy] goes to the clipboard, [Save] exports to a file. [Lossless Crop & Save] crops JPEG without re-encoding — original quality preserved.
• Extract TextThe [Extract Text] button runs OCR on the selected region and copies the recognized text.

KingView's slideshow is closer to an exhibition than a photo flip. Blurred image backdrops fill the letterbox area regardless of aspect ratio, and you can add background music.

• Start & StopRight-click [Slideshow] and pick a 1–9 second interval to start instantly. Ctrl+0 toggles play/pause anytime.
• BackdropInstead of black bars, the empty area fills with a blurred, dimmed enlargement of the image (Windows Photos style). Blur strength is adjustable and works in normal viewing too.
• Background MusicPoint KingView at a music folder and it plays automatically during slideshows.

• Lossless CropSelect a region and [Lossless Crop & Save] — JPEG is cropped with zero quality loss, no re-encoding.
• Animation FramesAdjust playback speed from 0.25× to 4× and save the current frame as PNG at any moment.
• Clipboard & PrintCtrl+C copies; Ctrl+V opens a clipboard image directly. Printing is true WYSIWYG — output matches the preview.
• Batch RenameThe Batch Rename tab in Batch Tools renames whole sets at once with sequence, original-name, folder and date templates plus find-and-replace. If any name would collide, nothing is renamed.

Shot two thousand photos on a trip? Now comes the picking. Ratings and flag culling were built exactly for this — and they are Lightroom-compatible (XMP), so they carry into a pro workflow.

• Star RatingsRate with Alt+1–5. Stars show on thumbnails, and rating sort plus the browser rating filter let you view only your best shots.
• Flag CullingPick/reject flags let you cull large shoots quickly.
• File EditingRight-click [Edit] to rename, fix the taken date, or add/edit/remove GPS location. Album-folder send and bookmarks are supported too.

A single photo carries over 60 pieces of information — camera, lens, exposure, location. KingView is one of the few viewers that lets you edit this data, not just view it.

• Preload CachePre-decodes previous/next images for instant display. Cache auto-sizes to 30% of system memory (200MB-2GB range).
• Dark ThemeDark theme is applied by default. Title bar and context menus follow the same dark style.
• File AssociationLink any extension to KingView in Preferences > File Association. Explorer thumbnails (AVIF, JXL, PSD and 20 formats) and a right-click "View with KingView" menu on archives are also provided.
